Brenda Nachreiner

Brenda Nachreiner is an abstract artist whose work reflects the emotions, memories, and experiences that have shaped her life. Working in the spirit of the Abstract Expressionists, her paintings become a visual diary of the inner landscape from which they emerge. Rather than explaining the meaning behind each piece, she invites viewers to discover their own emotional connections and interpretations.

Art has been Brenda’s earliest and most enduring form of self-expression. She began formal art studies at the age of six at theOglebay Institute, continued private instruction throughouthigh school, and later majored in Fine Art at WestminsterCollege. After graduation, she collaborated with another artistto create a line of functional pottery while continuing todevelop her painting practice.

Working in oil, oil and cold wax, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, and pen and ink, Brenda continually explores new materialsand techniques to create expressive marks, rich textures, andmovement. Guided by curiosity and a lifelong sense of wonder, she believes the creative journey is never finished and thatevery new painting offers the opportunity to discoversomething unexpected. She considers it a privilege to spendeach day creating work that is honest, deeply personal, andopen to each viewer’s own interpretation.
